A passion for music.
I taught my first violin lessons while in high school, working as a volunteer with both 4th and 5th grade students as well as adult beginners. At the time, I did it for fun, because I loved sharing music with others. I would have never believed that, fifteen years later, I would found my own studio.
My path to get here is unusual compared to many of my peers: I didn’t go to music school. But my approach to teaching draws on more than two decades of experience studying, practicing, listening, refining, and performing. It is informed by my experience learning a new instrument both as a child and as an adult. It has deepened as I’ve begun to teach my own children. Perhaps most importantly, my commitment to teaching stems from the belief that music is an essential part of life.
My goal as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love of music in each and every student. To help students approach their instrument with confidence, resilience, and ease of body and mind.
For students of all ages.
Instrumental Lessons
Great Marsh Music Studio welcomes beginning to upper-intermediate students on the violin and piano, ages four and up.
Each lesson is tailored to the students’ specific interests and goals, whether they’re completely new to music, taking private lessons for the first time, or just looking to take their playing to a new level.

Early Childhood Music
Rachael is certified in the First Steps in Music program, an early childhood music course researched and developed by John Feierabend for children from birth to age five. Classes are offered in partnership with Early Childhood Partners at the Hamilton-Wenham Library.
